SUMMARY:ED-TED Final Event - Teacher Educators’ Professional Learning for Equity and Diversity: Needs\, Supports\, and Policy Implications
DESCRIPTION:Programme:\nSession 1: Standing Together for Every Student: Teacher Educators‘ Collective Agency for Equity and Diversity\nIn this session\, Prof Helma Oolbekkink-Marchand will explore the role teacher educators can and should play in turbulent times. Drawing on ED-TED insights and wider research\, she will consider how the profession can develop collective agency to prepare teachers for equity and diversity\, challenge exclusion\, and stand together for every student. \nSession 2: ED-TED Main findings: Mapping\, Online Resource Bank and Competency Framework\nIn this session\, Dr Alina Boutiuc-Kaiser\, Prof Eline Vanassche\, Dr Antonio Calderón\, and Prof Ruben Vanderlinde will present the main ED-TED findings\, including the mapping exercise\, the Online Resource Bank\, and the Competency Framework\, highlighting their relevance for strengthening teacher educators’ professional learning for equity and diversity. \nSession 3: ED-TED European Policy Brief: Policies Supporting Equity and Diversity in Teacher Education\nIn this session\, Prof. Maria A. Flores will present the ED-TED European Policy Brief\, Policies Supporting Equity and Diversity in Teacher Education\, highlighting key policy messages and recommendations to strengthen teacher education systems\, support teacher educators’ professional learning\, and advance equity and diversity across European educational contexts. \nSession 4: Validation of the ED-TED Policy Brief: Equity and Diversity in Teacher Education: Advancing the Professional Development of Teacher Educators in Europe\nIn this session\, Dr. Joanne O’Flaherty (Ubuntu Network)\, Dr. Julie Uí Choistealbha (SCoTENS) Andreas Steyert (ZSL)\, and Dr. Petra Elftorp (University of Limerick) will facilitate the validation of the ED-TED Policy Brief\, exploring how its messages can advance equity and diversity in teacher education and support the professional development of teacher educators across Europe. \nFor further information\, please click here \nOnly members of the ED-TED Consortium will attend in person at the University of Limerick\, Ireland.
