The School of Education “Freiburg Advanced Center of Education” (FACE) was founded on October 1st, 2018 by the Albert‑Ludwigs‑University Freiburg and the University of Education Freiburg. In November 2019, the Freiburg University of Music joined as a third partner. With this cross‑institutional establishment the universities deepen their cooperation and commit themselves to the continuous joint development of teacher education.
Back in 2014, the university and the university of education founded the “Freiburg Advanced Center of Education” (FACE) cooperation network to bring together the selective collaboration between the universities in the field of teacher training within the framework of a structural cooperation. With the founding of the School of Education with the same title, the cooperation network was transformed into a joint scientific institution.
