Vortragsreihe Theater in der Schule: „Introducing Theater to Teacher Students“ – Sofia Giumaraes

The job of the teacher is that of the wise harbourer of knowledge: but it is also that of the jester who captures the students’ attention through the magic of storytelling. The focus of “Introduction to Acting for Teachers,” is the performative aspect of teaching, framing it as an activity that engages with body and mind simultaneously.

Sofia Guimararães has a B.A. in Acting from ESMAE (Porto, PL). In Freiburg, she directed two maniActs plays: Top Girls and Falling. She is currently doing her PhD in Magical Realism in postcolonial literature, but remains interested in the potential acting has for teaching: to empower students that want to be teachers and to create bridges between students and teachers.

In der Vortragsreihe „Theater in der Schule“ tragen Spezialist*innen aus verschiedenen philologischen Fächern, Didaktiker*innen und Praktiker*innen in 12 Vorträgen zu einer Vielfalt von Anregungen bei.

Schwerpunkte liegen auf Strategien und Methoden der Umsetzung in die (schulische) Praxis.

Zielgruppe sind neben Studierenden auch Lehrkräfte mit Interesse am Oberstufen-Wahlpflichtfach „Literatur und Theater“.
