Ein zentrales Anliegen der School of Education FACE ist die Entwicklung kohärenter – also strukturell und inhaltlich sinnhaft zusammenhängender – Curricula oder Module im Rahmen des Lehramtsstudiums. Was liegt da in Zeiten der Globalisierung näher, als sich anzusehen, wie dieses Prinzip in anderen Staaten und Bildungssystemen umgesetzt wird? Im Rahmen des Projekts ConnEcTEd geschieht genau das. Im September dieses Jahres reiste eine Freiburger Delegation nach Zagreb, um sich dort gemeinsam mit Projektpartner*innen aus Oslo, Nizza, Helsinki und Zagreb in Präsenz zu diesem wichtigen Thema auszutauschen.
A central concern of the School of Education FACE is the development of coherent curricula and modules for teacher education and teacher training programs. In times of globalization, what could be more obvious than to look at how these principle are implemented in other countries and educational systems? Within the ConnEcTEd project, this is what the various project members from Europe are aiming at and working for. In September 2022, a delegation from Freiburg, Oslo, Nice and Helsinki traveled to their project partners in Zagreb to exchange views on this important topic and to continue work on various other aspects of the project.
Once upon a time two neighbouring villages in the heart of Croatia, Gradec and Kaptol, decided to join forces. The town of Zagreb was born. Today, Zagreb is a buzzing and sparkling city in the heart of Europe. Zagreb is well worth a visit, both for the people, the food and a seemingly endless choice of museums – amongst those: The Museum of Broken Relationships.
The ConnEcTEd team went to Zagreb in September 2022, not to break anything but, on the contrary, to investigate how different domains in teacher education are connected and how these connections can be improved.
Although the meeting program was intense, our hosts at the Faculty of Education at the University of Zagreb – which is actually housed together with two school in one building! – also surprised us with a very interesting guided tour through Gradec and Kaptol and a perfect dinner that convinced all participants that Croatian cuisine has managed to fuse local, Italian, Austrian and Turkish influences into something really special.

ConnEcTEd – Coherence in European Teacher Education
Creating transnational communities of practice through virtual scenarios (Kohärenz in der europäischen Lehrerausbildung: Schaffung transnationaler Communities of Practice mithilfe virtuelle Lehr-Lern-Umgebungen)
Aufgrund stetig wachsender Anforderungen an professionelle Kompetenzen in Schule und Unterricht sind Fremdsprachenkenntnisse und interkulturelle Erfahrungen genauso wie der transnationale Austausch von Wissen und Erfahrungen wichtige Schlüsselkompetenzen künftiger Lehrkräfte.
Im Handlungsfeld Internationalisierung der School of Education FACE hat man sich deshalb zum Ziel gesetzt, die Mobilität von Studierenden und Dozierenden aktiv zu unterstützen und Curricula auch international stärker aufeinander abzustimmen. Doch wie kann angesichts der Vielfalt der europäischen Lehrkräftebildungssysteme eine länderübergreifende Zusammenarbeit in Lehre und Forschung gelingen?
Dieser Herausforderung stellen sich die Projektpartner im Projekt ConnEcTEd, das von September 2020 bis August 2023 durch die Programmlinie Erasmus+ Strategische Partnerschaften gefördert wird.
